NG needs more inspiration like this!

Let me start by saying that this song has elements not typical of the usual DnB song out here. It actually flows really well; IMO, the more varied the song gets, the better it is because you experiment with the voices more -- you SAY more, in other words. While DnB is dance music and should have that back groove that's easy to relate to, there's no reason it should drag on for 3 minutes the exact same the whole time! It needs flavor, and I believe that you do it pretty well in this song. =)

The few complaints I have are, obviously, the fact that you labeled this song as "Chaoz." I'm sure PX9 would appreciate, but it diminishes from your own unique qualities as an artist. Dude, you should take this and totally make your own series with it; you get more attention that way, and people don't mix you up with "another guy who remixed PX9's songs badly," because that's not what you did and that's not what you intend to do. You're a unique artist with your own qualities, so make that apparent!

Second, there's no denying it: There is way too much reverb in places. What I like to do is put reverb and compression on my snares, but take it completely off of the bass drum; this makes the bass drum stick out more over the melody, and it also helps to layer a soft acoustic drum punch to the underlying bass-ness of the bass drum along with a bass boost (check out some of the songs in my "Peril" series if you wanna hear what I mean).

Last, the overall loudness of everything takes away from the atmosphere of the song. Everything is situated at forte, when the drums need to be at mezzo-forte (albeit past 1:23 they get a little bit too punchy and treble for my tastes), and the overlying synths need to correspond with this volume. I guess what I'm trying to say, in a nutshell, is that there's a lotta clipping that you could get rid of with limiters and compression; there's a lot going on, which isn't a bad thing, but it builds up to this sort of constant white noise in the background that shouldn't be there. Just take down the volumes a bit (especially on the hats in the second half of the song), add some compression, and you'll be set.

I'll tell you some stuff that I love: Although it's very similar to PX9 in melody and I know that it's supposed to be that way, it catches my ear in a different, darker manner. It kinda reminds me of Dragonball Z at points, especially the beginning.

Oh yeah -- That clapping thing you add at 1:23-ish really caught my ear. I was like "whoa, haven't heard anything that percussively interesting in a DnB song evah!" Good stuff, bro; that's where you added your own unique flavor, which is why you should continue to market your own originality, ya know?

Solid stuff though man, I'll have to say. =)

Thanks alot for the review man!

hey there, fellow a'capella man!

I'm gonna say it right now: This song inspired me to put my high school a'capella group Final Cut out here. I like this arrangement, although the only complaints I have are the blending issues with the various voice parts (it lacks that vocal "shine" in the overtones at points) and the fact that it's hello loud. Still, this is really awesome. You have a damn good soloist voice though, for sure.

interesting, like the sounds

your sounds are "smoother" than a lot of dnb artists use, not so obnoxious. drum clips are superb. i will say that it seems like the project is caught in a rut as far as where it needs to go next; unfortunately this happened so many times to me in the past. As far as an intro though, this is really, really good. haven't heard a good intro to a song in a while, so this is refreshing. i'd say, for your "chorus" or whatever (second movement, more like), try throwing it up in the air, experimenting a little. throw people off their balance, ya know? there's a lot you can do with this piece right now, so go do it! this has awesome written all over it.

Thanks a lot man :D

That was actually a little inspiring. :P I'm glad you liked it and noticed the details I put into it. Yeah, I'll try experimenting and making it a little different.

Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it.

omg...

I really don't see how this made it on the all-time top scoring, but its pretty funny lol. I'm gonna think of this song every time I make easy mac now lol

extremely good! that triplet cut-off bass reminds me of the bass i used in my song a hell of a lot, except it's like 20 times beefier. And the piano? Really nice. I enjoy the through-composed nature of the song, too; dnb by nature is WAY too damn strophic. Thank you for making this masterpiece! It's so awesome in every way. It's got energy AND it's beautiful, even though it has a somewhat "typical" chord progression -- but hey, how else are you supposed to capture listeners? you got me, for sure. you've inspired me to write some "chill" dnb now, thanks!

Thank you man for a great review. The reece is kinda nice, but still it's primitive and with noises.

Pretty original, pretty dark

I like the originality you put into this song. The drums are more industrial than most of the dnb songs out here, which is a nice change. Plus, there was that little Latin-inspired part you threw together at the last half of the song, which added this crazy dark Spanish quality to it. Nice job! And the fact that it was totally original: Killer.

Dude, tight!

This is the type of dubstep song I was looking for for inspiration man. The drums are tight, the bass is beautiful, the beat is catchy (something I'm seeing is really rare among dubstep songs), and it's not 5 years too long. Nuff said. Keep it up!

Damn...

Wow...This might just be my new favorite DnB song out here lol. Quite you unique, and I really loved how crisp your drums were, not to mention how energetic they were. The organ? Ingenious melodious instrument. I give you props: This had me hooked from beginning to ending, which isn't easy to come by these days!

Haha I started typing WTF but then realized someone stole it from me already...dammit! But this song is somethin else. Definitely interesting beyond measure. Those are some crazy samples you use my friend; it makes me wanna go make some dub right now lol. And then you put ACCORDION in there? Damn...that's definitely different.
