Haha wow...

This is most definitely not stolen, wow. That sucks man, sorry to hear that people accused you of that. I've even gotten some responses like that to my space reggae song, which is just absolutely bogus. No song that's on top is stolen; it woulda gotten zeroed from the get-go, cmon people!
Now, as for the song...Lol, this is awesome! It's super chill, kinda reminds me of Mario Golf and, most definitely, the Wii menu music. But more than anything, it's like elevator music. Dude, I like it and dig it. The defining thing here is most definitely the electric piano, which makes me feel like I'm chillin on my front porch in the middle of the summer. Great job man, and keep up the good work! =)

Thanks Mr-jazzman. It's great that you got the relaxing summer feel. It is my intention to make incidental music. I'll soon start to work as a film composer and this loop was a practice run for this type of chill scene. Don't worry about does bad reviews, it actually means it sounds to something good and familiar, in those particular cases, Wii menu music.
Take care!!!

Wow,first song at the very top that sounds decent!

I like that catchy little wobbly thing you threw in there. Your drums are really mastered well, too. I guess my only complaint is that it coulda been just a little bit longer, maybe coulda had some melodic extension (those goddamn aussies know how to do it with EVERYTHING, from dnb to rock, i just don't understand!), but hey, regardless, it was cool. Keep it up man!

Tuneful

Haha your intro threw me off a little bit, it had a dnb beat. I love how expressive your bass is; it's very bubbly, very wobbly. The chords you choose in the background are also unlike anything that I've heard from any dub artist. What's especially remarkable about this song is you can quickly shift it from a chill atmosphere to this hard breakdown-esque feel, which I totally appreciate. Again, I think the bass could use just a bit more of a "bite," but the tone is beautiful. Something that I like about this one over the other dubstep song you posted recently (Nightcrawler) is that your snare has the "rip" quality I like. Good stuff! =)

P.S. You've now inspired me to right another dubstep song not based on Halloween.

Blizzaine responds:

Hah thanks bro,

I made a really punchy bass on "Mother Fucker" Its like my 2nd newest right now.

Thats the best bass I've made so far.

Pretty awesome stuff

I gotta say, I like the motif here, and the ambience goin on. I know this is probably gonna sound a little critical, but through my bass-biased headphones, I felt like your bass coulda been just a little louder. I love it's deep wobbly sound, though, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone do 32nd notes on it like ever, even among the big names, so props to you man. another thing is, i wish the snare wasn't so blasty; i felt like it shoulda had more of a "rip" or a "clap" quality. something i've discovered that works really well is layering a pitch-modified clap with a few other snare sounds. it gets this tone about it that's basically unbeatable. with that said, this is pretty sick, and i look forward to your future dubstep endeavors! i'm new to the style too, but you gotta admit, anything that blends the harshness of a metal breakdown with dnb techno is pretty badass!

Ya man, my newer tracks fix this, the bass is alot more prominent. You should check em out if you like this style

Beautiful tone on the guitar

Dude, this crunch on the guitar is absolutely beautiful, and the drums are perfectly mastered. Also, love it how you mixed "Chocolate Rain" in on this lol. The only thing I'd say is it's a bit repetitive, but that's okay, I love this kinda stuff. What can you say when you've got a perfect mix and a headbanger's paradise, man? You came you saw, you conquered; your breakdown towards the end was tasty as a mothafucka. Awesome man; keep it up! I'd love to get intonation like this not too far in the future.

P.S. I just recently heard about soundclick. I didn't realize this, but that's how that poser Soulja Boi got his start. I'm probably gonna start submitting stuff out there soon too; I love NG and all, and I'm still gonna submit my stuff here fo sho, but two portals would be awesome!

Wow, pathetic, no reviews yet? (Until now)

Okay, your theme is pretty nice, I'll most definitely say. The drumwork is also pretty good, except it could use just a bit more mastering in my opinion; the kick and the snare don't stick out as much as they need to. Try layering your kick with a deeper, more omnipresent one; this will make it sound like ten times beefier, and make the important beats stick out more. the snare is a nice sound, perhaps could be just louder to stand out over the hihats. also, the theme, as nice as it is, needs more action; if you just repeat it over and over again, the listener eventually looses interest...Wow, okay, just went back and read what you wrote, sorry for stating the obvious like a dumbass. =P um, try flirting with your idea a little bit, using melodic expansion. it's tough, i know from my own personal experience, but totally worth it in the end, trust me! and one more thing: Your piano in the beginning feels too echoey. Try making the piano more delicate. It will catch the ear more, cuz ppl will be like "hmm, this is dnb? sounds like classical." that is, until, your drumwork comes in, and then from there on out, you got yourself a beautiful dnb tune! good work so far man. you got an excellent start, and I hope I gave you some stuff to think about. I always think it's uber lame when you want feedback and people 0-vote your shit before it can even get reviewed. That's just pathetic. In order to insure that someone else will give you feedback, I'll 5 ya. Lemme know when you finish this too man; I'm lookin forward to it!

MA3HbO responds:

Thank you for the time you took to write this.I hardly get any nice reviews like this.
As for the things you mentioned i totally agree with you, the piano does get stuck in the listener's head so i'll try to build it up with some automation to the point where it starts now.The drumloop is all custom made and i spend not more than 10 minutes on it so i guess it needs alot of tweaking. As for the theme, this song is still a WIP so there will be (hopefully) alot more going on.
Cheers and thanks for the nice review.I will let you know if i finish this piece.

Nice synths...very much halloween

Hip-hop ain't necessarily my style, but that doesn't mean I can't like it. This is the type of hip-hop that more people need to emulate. The synths were flavorful and rich, which is something I can always appreciate. What I really like is that the song didn't get old at all; you kept me intrigued the whole time. The only complaint I have is that the mix could be slightly fuller, but as it stands it's better than most stuff on NG. Nice job man; this is something I'd listen to for Halloween for sure!

haha thanks man

okay, creepy dude

Dude, you got me at the laughing little kids. Jesus christ, that always seems to give off this certain motif that scares the hell outta anyone. The music sounds like a vault, and it makes for good ambient background music my friend (hence the genre, I suppose lol). The only thing that seemed a little offbeat was the flute, with its timbre, but hey man, you still got my 5; this is good, creepy stuff. =)

roensb responds:

the "flute" is actually a whistle but its hard to tell due to it being kinda buried. I did want it off beat to create a sense of uneasiness to it (as well as the fact that the whistle part was improvised on a midi piano so my sense of time personally may have been a little to off beat). Thank you for the review though, its nice to hear that you listened to all of the parts :)

beautful

this is gorgeous, words really can't describe it. it has so much sound to it, and all of the sounds are extra rich. this is probably one of my new favs on NG, bar none. the production level is extremely good on this, and the vocals and everything in the background reminds me of something i'd hear in a clothing store at a mall. i really like how it has elements from ambient music mixed with dubstep. really nice man; keep it up!

Cheers for the awesome review man!
I was hoping for some criticism though ha, because personally i dont really like this song...

But, in making this, ive further developed and approached a sound that i do like =D

So in saying that, i've got a couple of up n comin's that will be submitted in the near future, and i'd like to see what you of them... Keep an eye out =P

NG needs more inspiration like this!

Let me start by saying that this song has elements not typical of the usual DnB song out here. It actually flows really well; IMO, the more varied the song gets, the better it is because you experiment with the voices more -- you SAY more, in other words. While DnB is dance music and should have that back groove that's easy to relate to, there's no reason it should drag on for 3 minutes the exact same the whole time! It needs flavor, and I believe that you do it pretty well in this song. =)

The few complaints I have are, obviously, the fact that you labeled this song as "Chaoz." I'm sure PX9 would appreciate, but it diminishes from your own unique qualities as an artist. Dude, you should take this and totally make your own series with it; you get more attention that way, and people don't mix you up with "another guy who remixed PX9's songs badly," because that's not what you did and that's not what you intend to do. You're a unique artist with your own qualities, so make that apparent!

Second, there's no denying it: There is way too much reverb in places. What I like to do is put reverb and compression on my snares, but take it completely off of the bass drum; this makes the bass drum stick out more over the melody, and it also helps to layer a soft acoustic drum punch to the underlying bass-ness of the bass drum along with a bass boost (check out some of the songs in my "Peril" series if you wanna hear what I mean).

Last, the overall loudness of everything takes away from the atmosphere of the song. Everything is situated at forte, when the drums need to be at mezzo-forte (albeit past 1:23 they get a little bit too punchy and treble for my tastes), and the overlying synths need to correspond with this volume. I guess what I'm trying to say, in a nutshell, is that there's a lotta clipping that you could get rid of with limiters and compression; there's a lot going on, which isn't a bad thing, but it builds up to this sort of constant white noise in the background that shouldn't be there. Just take down the volumes a bit (especially on the hats in the second half of the song), add some compression, and you'll be set.

I'll tell you some stuff that I love: Although it's very similar to PX9 in melody and I know that it's supposed to be that way, it catches my ear in a different, darker manner. It kinda reminds me of Dragonball Z at points, especially the beginning.

Oh yeah -- That clapping thing you add at 1:23-ish really caught my ear. I was like "whoa, haven't heard anything that percussively interesting in a DnB song evah!" Good stuff, bro; that's where you added your own unique flavor, which is why you should continue to market your own originality, ya know?

Solid stuff though man, I'll have to say. =)
