i wasnt a part of newgrounds when you were first popular, but im glad i can be a part of whatever the future holds :)

WOOOW WAIT WHAAAT

Hey man, welcome back. Who was plagiarizing your music? Anyway, if you're going to continue making dubstep (which I still hate!) I actually suggest you stick with Bassfly. I actually thought that was a good move on your part cuz your username always ticked me off cuz you made dubstep lol. I think Bassfly's a good name, but hey do what you want, I can't stop ya. Oh and if you become a supporter you can change your username!

Lol! I appreciate the feedback. I probably would change my name if there weren't thousands/millions of people who would recognize the name (that's no exaggeration...looking at the accumulated views on the verification videos for Sakupen Hell and Kenos, not to mention the video for the Hell Yes Remix that Xmillsa posted, it looks to be in the millions). But make no mistake: I do love jazz. I have a special place for Miles Davis, as well as the prog jazz movement from the early 70s. It's fantastic shit.

Needless to say, I don't see future endeavors being strictly of any one particular genre. Dubstep got stale to me, so I went back to my metal roots for inspiration around 2014-2015. Now I have a plethora of new sounds I want to incorporate into my music, as well as real instruments and vocals. The problem is time; my life is so commitment-heavy now that finding the time to finish anything is very difficult. Fortunately, the pandemic has given a lot of that back to me, so I may have some more time to create very soon. We'll see! ?

@SoulSecure also on the note of plagiarism...yes. It happened. Someone outside of NG stole many songs from many different artists. I believe dj-Nate and xKore were caught in the fire as well. So there was a mass exodus away from NG.

Since there is still a danger of that, plus the fact that I'd like more creative control over my music now, I'll be using NG for promotional purposes, but probably uploading full projects to YouTube exclusively.

@mr-jazzman Yeah man I remember that. I can't understand why that would make one want to stop using this platform though, cuz that can happen to anyone on any platform. I've found some of my music in weird places, but I don't think I've found anyone claiming it as their own. Nowadays though I'm not quite sure who would want to steal Christian music with my voice all over it and try to market it as their own >.>

It is one of those things I consider now and then about releasing instrumentals, like that someone could try and use it without my permission and yeah that would upset me, but I'm living for something higher than all this now. If someone rips off my music and makes money on it, yeah it's gonna make me upset, but it's not gonna stop me and it's not gonna ruin my life cuz my real, abundant life is hid with Christ on high.

What's your youtube?

The problem is NG has a download button, and then the music is yours forever. Also, anything on NG is technically public domain, so it can be used for any purpose without license. If it's on YouTube, it's at least slightly harder to steal; you at least have to pay to download content, and there's different rules on publishing creative media. To be honest, if the opportunity ever arose, I'd sign a record deal to totally protect my creative currency and probably just use NG to keep tabs with the community (although it then becomes the property of the record company, which has its own host of problems).

I own the American Dubstep channel on YouTube, but I'll probably create a different channel for future stuff.

@mr-jazzman Oh wait I forgot all about that time someone made a zelda/conker fan game rom hack and threw one of my old Zelda remakes into it without asking me. I sent them emails and never got a response. Good thing it's just some old junk :P

@mr-jazzman Nah man that's mad old business. Check it, we don't have to be public domain, we got choices when you upload on how your music can be used and whether or not you have full or partial rights to the song and all that license business. You can even disable downloads now, man check the FAQ or whatever it's called, like them rules or whatever, y'know. I'm not sayin' nuthin' against you though, like you do what you want I just don't want you to think taking music from NG is any easier than taking it from youtube. We've had youtube downloaders since the beginnin' and we still got 'em now whether people pay for YT or not.

And that song of mine I mentioned earlier was ripped off youtube, not here.

Anyway, I might check your channel even though I hate dubstep, just to get you some views :P
And be sure to make a news post or sumthin' when/if you make your new channel!

Well, that's news to me. Good to know! Like I said...10 years. I'll look into it.

And yeah. Not saying YouTube is the end all be all in terms of protecting your creative enterprise. It's just better then having a DL button that you couldn't disable (but it's a moot point with what you just told me).

And absolutely! I'll keep you and anyone else interested in the loop.

Three years of hell... And I did it... But 10 years...
Welcome back my dear friend!
I can't believe that it is real and I can talk with you; just thx for all!!!
