Big huge wobbles my friend!

I'm pretty jealous of that man. I've got the formant down, by I still gotta find the right blend of distortion to make that wobble perfect like that. This groove is badass. I dunno if there's really anything else that needs to be said. Oh yes...and the mix is great. Sounds absolutely professional. If there's one thing I wish, I wish the snare was slightly poppier, and I wish that the ending didn't leap off a cliff like that, but I seriously love that groove man. Very tribal. Excellent. Keep it up man!

P.S. Would be willing to point me in the direction of a good distortion plugin?(outside of what's given on a typical bitcrusher) I'm tryin to find somethin that doesn't sacrifice the integrity of the resonance and cutoff, which is a problem I've been running into lately. If you've got any suggestions, please let me know! =)
P.P.S. You're still one of my favorite dubstep artists here on NG. Somethin about your music is so dark...perhaps it's the quarter-tone tuning or somethin, I dunno. It's great. =)

Me like!

Great stuff, really. I really REALLY love the atmosphere in this one. Your mastering's gotten a little better too, although I want more of that snare man, and a slight bit more sub bass too. I want to work on our track man; maybe I can show you some stuff with the bass! =D Good job overall though FiendO, keep it up with this stuff man! =)

Metalstep FTW!

This is a pretty awesome track overall. Your wobbles are pretty fantastic; it reminds me of metalstep, the type of dubstep that I really want to start producing. The mastering and sound was pretty good overall, and the edition at the end was nice. The one thing that bugged me a little were some of the synths that you used in the chill portions of the song; their tone just didn't seem to fit to the overall feel of the song. However, the sheer ingenuity of this track is what gives it its edge. Keep it up man, you've got some talent! =)

thanks man i appreciate the review! so is that what its called then? Metal step? i must youtube it.... and yeah i can relate with the synths - i need better VST's; this is my problem!

Discrepancy

This song's goofy as hell, basically just ridiculous. Something I could produce in like 5 seconds, using generic FL samples and the acid synth off of Sytrus lol. And yet it holds this gigantic popularity rank...then I go to see, voted on 32 times and listened to 220 some odd times in 5 years (at least since writing this review)...but holy shit...15,902 DLs? What's that, like an average of 8 DLs per day by yourself for the past year? Wonderful! =D

it is pretty titty lickin rediculous, wouldnt you say?

Congrats! I'm givin you a legit review tho ;)

I love your stuff, Zenon. Always have. It's got that darkness to it that makes me think, "If the ideals of metalcore got married to epic dance music of sorts and decided to have a baby, this is exactly how that baby would sound crying out of the womb." I know, strange comparison. But, your stuff has always been there for me to listen to and get excited about.

However, we both know that I can produce a damn nasty formant bass. ;) Try bitcrushing it a little more, giving it a slightly deeper. I find stereoizing works phenomenally well also, especially with some extra chorus. Go for it, and have fun! =D

Great tune overall, although I think the mix needs a little cleaning up, and the ideas may need a little refining, especially towards the conclusion. Your percussive edge in this song is something noteworthy though. Keep it up bro, you're soon to be crowned a king of dubstep if you keep following this path! =D

I might have to compete now lol

Pretty badass, not gonna lie. What I absolutely adore about your songs is how you throw off the listener by giving a rhythm change from the intro section to the rest of your section. I don't even know how to classify this song; I remember you wanted to classify it as dubstep-inspired, but it's more just like epic dance music with a phenomenal measure of ambience to go along with it. What I really REALLY wish is that you had continued and expanded on that theme in the final half of the song; there's a lot I felt you coulda done there that you didn't, and all at once...it ended. It's without a doubt a great theme, but I felt you were just a little conservative in this one towards the end. Still though, your mix is fantastic! And the themes that you have developed are huge. Great work Nate, keep it up! =D

Ah, thanks for the review jazzman! Yeah, I think I may have rushed the ending a little. I really appreciate the tips and criticisms, I hope you come out with more tracks soon!

Here ya go Nate

A heartfelt review, as promised! =D There's a shit-ton to appreciate in this one. It's extremely artistic, and the mastering job is great. Above all though, I love how dark it is, and how you're able to slowly give the song life over time to the end. The whole thing was fantastic. Unmatched. I have no fear in saying that you're probably one of the best producers on NG, along with xKore. While the synths weren't necessarily the synths that I would have picked, they're still great in their own way - and I definitely appreciate the niche that you've found! If I ever go ahead to make a trance song (which I'm definitely considering playing with the idea now...with some dubstep influence too would be nice ;) ), this is precisely the atmosphere I want it to encompass. Great job man, and also thanks for your advice! I'm definitely interested in this opportunity. =)

It's tough getting a ten outta you huh?? Haha, thanks for the review man, I really appreciate it. You're an amazing producer yourself Jazzman, don't sell yourself short!

Another perfect example

I'm still extremely perplexed as to why your stuff is DL-able for free lol. I would definitely by an album of your stuff. Hell, I'd give you a 10 if it wasn't a WIP. The drumwork is superb, the drop is epic because of your filtering, the bass is epic because of your dubstep background and inclusion of a minor wobble with bitcrushed effects...xKore, you've got the whole package man. Let me know if/when the whole thing comes out.

Haha glad I'm not on your list! =D

You do realize xKore himself favorited this song, right? X~D

Talent here

I love your attention to rhythm. Most artists forgo this completely. But you've nailed it with the glitch patterns, which work fantastically. The only thing I'd say is that your bass is slightly too obnoxious. I've found that filthy bass doesn't necessarily come right from creating the most overt sounds, but rather the effects that you put on those sounds. I'd recommend these three things: Reverb, flanger, stereo. It should fill out your bass in areas. I also want to hear some of the drum samples come out a little more on top of the bass; this can be accomplished with even simple EQing. Overall, you've got a huge amount of potential, but I'd say there's still a little bit of work to be done. Catchy though indeed!

Thanks for your lenghy-yet-helpful review. I've pretty much retired this song from work for now, but I'll be sure to utilize these techniques in future works.
